These kids…
I haven’t done a lot of portraits of small children in years. I don’t know why…they just didn’t come to me. I am feeling so blessed to have had a couple of littles in my studio this week. I missed photographing this age! It’s like doing burpees for 2 hours while making funny noises, telling stories, and juggling….all at the same time. It is a rush. It is hilarious and fun, especially with these two. My little main man was right up my alley. He was curious, smart, funny…and goodness gracious, a breath of fresh air. His sister, my kind of gal, liked hugging me so much. I mean, she looks like a precious moments doll, and is so sweet and loving. What a day! The best thing about these sessions is you walk away from the tornado of cute, not sure what just happened, and are rewarded with images you love so much! The way you described photographing children is spot on — and when you’re finished it’s the most satisfying kind of exhaustion ever (especially when the kids are this cute and the photographs are this perfect). I bet this mama comes back for more, a few of these need to be up on a big canvas in the house!
